Resort Cottages, Solar E-Houses & Cabins in Bhuj and Kutch

Kutch has two faces: the White Rann that draws visitors every winter, and one of the world's largest renewable energy parks at Khavda. We build resort cottages and visitor buildings for the first, and E-Houses, site offices and labour camps for the second.

Bhuj & Kutch

Bhuj is the gateway to Kutch's desert and craft country. Each winter the salt flats of the White Rann near Dhordo host a festival tent city, and resorts, homestays and craft villages such as Bhujodi welcome visitors to the Rann, Kala Dungar and the beaches at Mandvi. Hospitality here is seasonal and needs structures that are quick to install, comfortable in extreme heat and cold, and in keeping with the landscape.

North of Bhuj, the Khavda renewable energy park is being built across a vast area of the Rann: solar fields, wind turbines, pooling substations and transmission lines, with large construction workforces and long supply lines. That is enterprise work — E-Houses and inverter rooms, control rooms, site offices, labour camps, canteens and toilet blocks in remote, harsh conditions.

From Umbergaon, Bhuj is a long road journey through Ahmedabad and across the Little Rann. Khavda and Dhordo lie further out on remote roads, so logistics are planned per project: module sizes, convoy timing and cranes, and in some cases flat-packed panel or light gauge steel systems assembled on site.

Applications

Built for the climate

Specified for Bhuj.

Arid desert climate: extreme summer heat, cold winter nights on the Rann, dust and saline ground, sparse rain and a very high seismic hazard.

  1. 01Kutch is in India's highest seismic zone — specify structures and anchorage to the seismic loads your engineer sets.
  2. 02Use thick PUF roofs and walls for both extreme heat and cold desert nights.
  3. 03Protect frames and fixings from saline soil and dust with galvanising, raised bases and sealed joints.
  4. 04Seal E-Houses and inverter rooms against fine dust with filtered ventilation, and plan HVAC for high ambient heat.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can you supply E-Houses and site camps for Khavda?

Yes. We build E-Houses, inverter and control rooms, site offices, bunk houses and toilet blocks for solar and wind projects. Logistics to Khavda are planned per project, including module sizes, convoy timing and cranes.

Can you build cottages for a resort near the White Rann?

Yes. We build cottages on light gauge steel frames or from containers, insulated for heat and cold and finished in the factory, so installation fits the short season before visitors arrive.

Are prefabricated structures safe in Kutch's earthquake zone?

Light steel-framed structures perform well in earthquakes, but the design loads must come from your engineer. Specify the seismic zone and standards your project applies and we design the frame and anchorage around them.

When is the best time to install in Kutch?

October to March, before the summer heat. Resorts usually need structures ready before the tourist season opens, so plan fabrication through the monsoon.
