Power & substations — prefabricated E-Houses for switchgear and control

An E-House replaces a masonry substation building with a factory-built enclosure, engineered around your switchgear and delivered as a skid-mounted unit ready to set on its plinth.

Overview

In a conventional substation, the building is poured and cured on site before the switchgear can go in, and the electrical contractor waits on the civil programme. An E-House — an electrical house or prefabricated substation — reverses that. The enclosure is built in a factory in parallel with site civil works, then delivered and set on a prepared plinth or pedestal foundation.

We engineer each E-House around the equipment it will hold. The panel general arrangement drives the internal dimensions, the front and rear clearances, the cable entry cut-outs and trench or false-floor arrangement, the position of doors for panel withdrawal, and the lifting points and skid. The envelope is insulated PUF sandwich panel on a heavy-duty steel frame, with provisions for louvres, HVAC, lighting, earthing and cable entries.

E-Houses serve utility and industrial substations, PCC and MCC rooms for process plants, switchgear rooms for infrastructure projects and control rooms at remote sites. The project's electrical consultant defines the standards and ratings; we build the enclosure to that specification and coordinate with the panel supplier on dimensions and access.

What we supply

Configured for the job.

  • PCC and MCC rooms

Enclosures for power control centres and motor control centres at process plants, with cable trenches and access on both sides of the panel line-up.

  • Switchgear rooms and prefabricated substations

LT or HT switchgear enclosures set on plinths beside transformers, with provisions for earthing, lighting and fire detection on request.

  • Control and relay rooms

Insulated rooms for SCADA, relay and communication panels, with a clean interior, cable floor and operator workspace where needed.

  • Operator and SCADA cabins

Glazed, climate-controlled cabins overlooking yards and equipment, built for long operator shifts.

  • Spares and equipment stores

Secure containers for spares, tools and cable drums at the substation.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is an E-House?

An E-House is a prefabricated, transportable enclosure built to house electrical equipment such as switchgear, PCC and MCC panels, and control systems. It replaces a site-built substation room and is delivered ready to be placed on a foundation.

What information do you need to design an E-House?

The panel GA drawings and weights, the single-line diagram or panel list, the cable entry arrangement, required clearances, heat load, site climate and any standards your consultant specifies. The more complete the panel data, the more precise the enclosure.

Can panels be installed at your factory before dispatch?

This depends on the size, weight and transport route. We can discuss whether panels are fitted before dispatch or installed after the E-House is placed, and coordinate with your panel supplier either way.

What foundation does an E-House need?

Typically a raised plinth or pedestal foundation with cable trenches or openings aligned to the E-House floor cut-outs. We share the base frame and cut-out drawing so civil work can proceed in parallel.

Which standards will the E-House comply with?

Your project's electrical consultant should specify the standards and ratings required. We design and build the enclosure to the specification you provide.
