Prefab Cottages & Resort Rooms in Dharamshala
Dharamshala
Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj above it draw visitors for the Dalai Lama's presence, the monasteries, trekking and the views of the Dhauladhar. The villages of Bhagsu, Dharamkot and Naddi have filled with guest houses, cafés and retreats, and the wider Kangra valley adds Palampur's tea gardens and Bir–Billing, one of India's best-known paragliding sites.
The valley asks a lot of a building. Dharamshala receives some of the heaviest monsoon rainfall in the country, slopes are steep, and the Kangra region was shaken by one of India's most destructive earthquakes in 1905. Light gauge steel frames with PUF or Aerocon walls are light, fast to erect and well suited to seismic ground, and can be finished with timber, slate and deep eaves to suit the setting.
From Umbergaon, structures travel north through Punjab and into the Kangra valley on the highway via Pathankot or Una. Hill roads to McLeod Ganj and the upper villages are steep and narrow, so we often supply smaller modules or flat-packed kits. Each project is planned around access, the monsoon and the lift.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
How do you deliver to Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj?
By road north through Punjab and into the Kangra valley. For the steep roads to McLeod Ganj and the upper villages, we use smaller modules or flat-packed LGS and panel kits assembled on site.
How do prefab structures handle Dharamshala's rain?
Detailing is everything: steep roof pitches, wide eaves, generous gutters, sealed joints, raised plinths and good site drainage. We specify galvanised frames and coated skins for the damp.
Are LGS buildings suitable in an earthquake zone?
Light gauge steel is light and ductile, which helps in earthquakes. Your structural engineer should set the seismic criteria and foundation design for the site; we build the frame to them.
