Portable Cabins & Site Offices in Siliguri

Siliguri is the gateway to the North-East, Sikkim and Bhutan. We build site offices, labour camps, container cabins and cottages for its projects and the tea estates around it, detailed for the region's very heavy monsoon.

Siliguri & the Dooars

Siliguri sits at the narrowest point of the Siliguri corridor, the strip of land that links the rest of India to the North-East. Almost every road, rail line and pipeline to Sikkim, Assam and beyond passes through it, which makes the city a hub for warehousing, trade and project logistics. Industrial parks at Dabgram and Fulbari hold food-processing, tea and manufacturing units, and the tea estates of the Terai and Dooars spread across the plains to the east and west.

Infrastructure dominates local demand. Highway widening, the new rail line toward Sikkim, bridges and defence and border works all need site offices, labour accommodation, toilet blocks and store rooms. Tea estates need offices, staff quarters and, increasingly, tourist cottages, and the city itself keeps building warehouses and commercial space.

From Umbergaon, the road journey is long: across central India into West Bengal and north through the state toward the corridor. We plan module sizes and transport per project, and for hill sites beyond Siliguri we can supply smaller modules or flat-packed panel and light gauge steel systems assembled on site.

Applications

Built for the climate

Specified for Siliguri.

Hot, very humid summers, one of the heaviest monsoons in West Bengal from June to September, and cool, foggy winters at the foot of the Himalaya. Seismic zone IV.

  1. 01Pitch roofs steeply, add wide eaves and size gutters for very heavy, prolonged monsoon rain.
  2. 02Raise the plinth and plan site drainage — Terai ground waterlogs and rivers rise fast in the rains.
  3. 03Detail frames, anchorage and connections for the seismic loads your engineer specifies in this high-risk zone.
  4. 04Specify galvanised frames, coated skins and good ventilation to control damp and mould in persistent humidity.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can you deliver portable cabins to Siliguri?

Yes. It is a long road journey from Umbergaon across central India and north through West Bengal, so we plan transport per project. Share your site and schedule early and we will suggest module sizes and timing.

Can you supply cabins for projects in the hills beyond Siliguri?

Yes, with planning. Hill roads limit vehicle size, so we often supply smaller modules or flat-packed panel and light gauge steel systems that are assembled on site. Photos of the access help us choose the method.

When should we schedule installation around Siliguri?

Avoid the heavy monsoon from June to September where possible. Foundations and installation are easiest from October to May, while factory work can run through the rains.

Can you build cottages or staff quarters on a tea estate?

Yes. Light gauge steel and panel structures suit estate cottages, staff quarters and offices, and can be finished in timber and plaster to sit well among the gardens. Your consultant should confirm approvals for permanent buildings.
