Cold rooms & clean rooms
Cold rooms & clean rooms — PUF-panel temperature-controlled spaces

Overview
A cold room or controlled room is only as good as the box around it. Poorly insulated walls, open joints or rough surfaces raise energy use, let in moisture and make hygiene difficult. PUF panels — polyurethane foam between pre-coated steel skins — give high thermal resistance for their thickness and a smooth, washable face on both sides.
We build cold rooms for food processing, dairy, horticulture and pharma storage, with panel thickness chosen for the temperature range you need to hold. Tongue-and-groove or cam-lock joints keep the envelope tight, and we can include coved corners, insulated doors, vision panels and provisions for refrigeration units, lighting and drainage. The refrigeration system itself is typically specified with your refrigeration contractor.
For clean and controlled rooms — pharma process areas, laboratories, electronics assembly — the same panels form smooth, flush walls and ceilings that are easy to clean and seal. Your process consultant defines the cleanliness and HVAC requirements; we build the room envelope to support them.

Guides
FAQ
Questions, answered.
What PUF panel thickness is needed for a cold room?
It depends on the temperature you need to hold and the outside conditions. Chilled rooms generally use thinner panels than frozen storage. Tell us the temperature range and we will recommend a thickness.
Do you supply the refrigeration system?
We build the insulated room and provide openings, supports and power provisions for refrigeration equipment. The refrigeration system is usually specified with a refrigeration contractor, and we coordinate with them.
Can you build a clean room to a specific classification?
We build the panel envelope — walls, ceilings, doors and sealed joints. The cleanliness class depends on HVAC, filtration and validation, which your process consultant and HVAC contractor define. We work to their specification.
Can a cold room be built inside an existing building?
Yes. PUF panels are light and can be assembled inside an existing shed or warehouse, standing on an insulated floor.
